Dear Friends and Supporters,
We are excited to share an important update about the Genesis Substance Abuse Recovery Program, a cornerstone initiative dedicated to combating the growing crisis of substance abuse and homelessness in East County, San Diego.
San Diego’s homeless population is facing unprecedented challenges, often stemming from a complex mix of trauma, addiction, mental illness, and socioeconomic hardships. High-quality treatment options remain scarce and out of reach for many, leaving a crucial gap in care that Genesis aims to fill.
Genesis Recovery is committed to providing a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to treatment. Our mission is to foster sustainable sobriety and overall well-being through:
To successfully reopen and sustain Genesis Recovery, we need to raise $975,000. This will enable us to offer essential services and create a self-sustaining program.
The Lucky Duck Foundation has generously put forth a matching gift challenge: they will donate $325,000 if we can raise an additional $650,000. This means every dollar you give is effectively doubled, significantly enhancing our impact. We are applying for a Grant with the Grossmont Healthcare District and have a few other large donors considering support.
Your support is crucial. By contributing to Genesis Recovery, you are helping provide life-saving services to those in desperate need, fostering a healthier, more productive community.
Genesis Recovery, Inc. is also partnering with East County Transitional Living Center to provide a one-year program after completion of detox and residential treatment. Once stabilized through the Genesis Program, a person could have up to one year to learn life management skills, participate in job training, access programs for permanent housing and many more resources that foster a long life of recovery and success. We want to see lives transformed, relationships restored and our communities healed.
Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of individuals struggling with addiction. Thank you for considering our request. We look forward to partnering with you to bring hope and healing to San Diego, especially East County.
